Player Background
MEAC Player of the Year whose 2021 season was elite at the plate and on the mound
Danny Hosley was not a utility player in name only. His 2021 Norfolk State season made him one of Division I baseball's rare legitimate two-way standouts: an all-conference shortstop, an all-conference pitcher and one of five national finalists for the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Award.
Background
Hosley was voted 2021 MEAC Player of the Year after batting .357 with 46 hits, 24 RBI and nine stolen bases while also going 7-2 on the mound with 84 strikeouts in 76.1 innings. He earned First-Team All-MEAC at shortstop and Second-Team All-MEAC as a starting pitcher, helped Norfolk State win its first MEAC baseball championship and made the conference all-tournament team. He later transferred to George Mason, where he started 51 games in the field in 2022 and continued to pitch.
