What Is Banana Ball?
Banana Ball is a fast-paced, fans-first version of baseball created by the Savannah Bananas. It keeps the core skills of baseball but uses 11 rules built around inning-based points, a two-hour time limit and a quicker style of play.
The 2026 Banana Ball Championship League (BBCL) has six teams: Savannah Bananas, Party Animals, Firefighters, Texas Tailgaters, Loco Beach Coconuts and Indianapolis Clowns. Every BBCL game uses the same Banana Ball rule set.
Win the inning, get the pointMost innings award one point to the team that scores more runs in that inning.
Two-hour time limitNo new inning starts after the two-hour mark.
No traditional walksBall four sends the batter running while every defensive player must handle the ball.
Fans can record an outA clean foul-ball catch by a fan in the stands counts as an out.
Showdown breaks tiesA tied game goes to Banana Ball’s Showdown tiebreaker instead of standard extra innings.
Golden BatterOnce per game, a team can send any hitter in its lineup to bat in a chosen spot.
