Player Background
Brett Allen's Reinhardt finish: 11 saves, a school record and a Visitors contract
Brett Allen's Reinhardt numbers show why calling him only a closer is too narrow: across 2024 and 2025 he threw 137.2 innings, won 10 games and still accumulated 19 saves.
Background
Allen went 6-1 with a 2.59 ERA over 87 innings in 2024, striking out 88 and recording eight saves. His 2025 workload was shorter but more save-heavy: 26 appearances, two starts, a 4-2 record, 50.2 innings, 58 strikeouts and 11 saves. Reinhardt identifies those 11 saves as its single-season record and notes that Allen pitched on two conference-winning teams, including an NAIA World Series run. In July 2025 the university announced that he had signed with the Visitors, Banana Ball's developmental club.
