How to read the position abbreviations

Several labels are familiar from baseball: RHP means right-handed pitcher, LHP left-handed pitcher, C catcher, 1B first base, 3B third base, INF infield and OF outfield. UTL means utility, which indicates a flexible player rather than one fixed fielding position.

Combined labels matter too. Brett Carson is listed as LHP/OF/1B, Jordan Brewer as 1B/OF, and Dane Tofteland as 3B/1B. The official roster also uses ENT in combined roles such as OF/ENT and LHP/ENT. Those official labels are preserved rather than converted into a conventional position the team does not use.

The label DR appears with Armani Henderson. Because the roster itself does not spell that abbreviation out, this page preserves it instead of guessing at an expansion.
