Player Background
All-PSAC right-hander who expanded from bullpen work into a 10-start senior season
Mercyhurst used Jacob Bazala in more than one pitching role, and his workload grew with his career. After earning all-conference recognition in a mostly relief-based 2024 season, he moved into a heavier starting role as a senior and logged more than 80 innings.
Background
Bazala earned Second-Team All-PSAC West honors in 2024 after making a team-high 16 appearances, including three starts, and striking out 51 hitters in 36.1 innings. In 2025 he appeared 20 times, made 10 starts and finished 7-4 with a 4.09 ERA, 85 strikeouts and one save across 81.1 innings. That senior workload more than doubled his innings from the previous year while maintaining better than a strikeout per inning.
