How to read Party Animals positions

The official roster uses familiar baseball abbreviations rather than long position descriptions. C means catcher, 1B first base, 2B second base, 3B third base, SS shortstop, IF infield, OF outfield and UTL utility. Pitchers may be listed as RHP or LHP for right- or left-handed pitcher. Some Banana Ball-specific roster labels can also appear; keeping the official abbreviation is better than guessing a conventional baseball role that may not fully describe it.

A position label tells you a player’s roster role, but it does not guarantee where that player will appear in every game. Banana Ball teams can use different defensive alignments, batting orders and matchups, and the exact lineup is a game-day decision.

Party Animals coaching staff

The official roster lists Mike Vavasis as Head Coach. Anthony Coromato and Thomas Simoneaux are also listed in coaching roles. Coaching listings belong on the roster page because fans often search the same source for both players and staff, but they should not be mixed into the player directory as if every roster card were an active player.

Roster vs starting lineup

The roster is the broader list of players attached to the team. The starting lineup and batting order describe who starts a particular game and in what order they hit. Those are not the same thing. A player can be on the Party Animals roster without starting every game, and a batting order can change from one matchup to the next.

This distinction is especially useful in Banana Ball because strategy can change quickly around inning scoring, the Golden Batter rule and game-specific matchups. Jersey numbers and hometowns

Jersey numbers help distinguish players and make it easier to connect a name on the roster with what you see during a game. Hometowns add background context, but they are not performance statistics or proof of where a player currently lives. When a field is not available, it is better to leave it blank than fill it with an assumption.

Numbers can also be unusual in Banana Ball. The official Party Animals roster includes traditional one- and two-digit numbers as well as unconventional identifiers. That is part of the team’s current roster presentation, so the official roster value is preserved rather than forced into a standard baseball numbering pattern.

Party Animals roster vs Savannah Bananas roster

The Party Animals and Savannah Bananas are separate BBCL teams with separate rosters, schedules, results and coaching staffs. The Party Animals began as the Bananas’ rival, but the current league structure treats them as their own club. If you are trying to identify a player from a matchup, checking the team-specific roster is more reliable than assuming a familiar Banana Ball name belongs to the Bananas.
